We were briefed on the general concept and the partners’ objectives, so that we could create our concept for the decoration. They told us about what they were going to cook, the intended customer service and everyone’s tastes. We gathered all the necessary pieces (the city, the place, the kitchen and what we, Mint studio, wanted to show through the decoration).
We knew we wanted a harmonious and unexaggerated decoration that would provide an experience, not only through the kitchen, but through the story we tell with each piece. We connect bunho (traditional local material), esparto (traditional material made in Spain), painting (local artist) and the cushion made on the looms of Monsaraz. We combine wood with marble, iron, and handmade lamps.
The Restaurant project was undoubtedly a pleasant surprise, not only for the final result, but also for the people we had the privilege of meeting and working with.
