Renovation of Private House in Fernão Ferro

Renovation and interior decoration project developed by Atelier Mint Design.

We were asked to carry out a general renovation of the house with the aim of making the house more comfortable, functional and harmonious.

We start by visiting the site, briefing the general concept and the clients’ wishes.

The starting point of the project was to get to know and feel the space, listen to the client’s wishes and then start creating the concept for the remodeling and decoration. We talk a lot with customers, to understand what their day-to-day life was like, their needs, use of space and each person’s preferences.

We chose to choose a central element, which would inspire both the renovation project and the decoration. It was through the chosen color, aqua green, that we created this union.

We started by drawing the general plan, studying the implementation of the environments and furniture, defining what to demolish and what we would build, choosing the coverings. After presenting the general ideas to the client, we developed detailed designs for the bathroom, kitchen, paneling and door furniture.

The most profound change was the transformation of the garage into a leisure space – winter garden. Both the kitchen and bathrooms underwent structural changes to coverings, flooring and furniture.

During the construction process, we developed all aspects of the decoration, respecting the initial concept of the remodeling proposal and highlighting the base color of the house (aqua green). The style that the client wanted for the entire house is a romantic, delicate and elegant style.

In the living room we created three distinct spaces: entrance hall, living area (TV), and dining area (English corner). The dining area, the paneling and the paper are the striking elements in the space that create the romantic, English-style atmosphere.

The winter garden was created as an extension of the living area, work and social space.

The owner of the house’s bedroom was characterized by the same romantic style as the living room, an elegant space, with some bolder details.

In Gonçalo’s room we wanted a space with personality, a harmonious and without exaggeration decoration, we linked the wood to the black iron, the green of the wall to the dark red, the wool of the carpet to the velvet of the armchair.

On floor 01, intended for Gonçalo, we chose to create a work and leisure area, where he can create his projects, have the possibility of socializing and a TV area.

The final result of the project exceeded the client’s expectations and ours.

From the first hour there was an understanding and excellent communication between everyone and the final result not only reflects the needs and preferences of the clients, but also incorporates the best practices and the exercise of creativity and design by Atelier Mint Design
